What is Ordermark (Nextbite)?

Ordermark is an online-order aggregation platform, founded in 2017 by Alex Canter of Canter's Deli in LA, that consolidates orders from DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub and other delivery apps into a single tablet/dashboard and injects them into the restaurant's POS. Important status update: after parent company Nextbite's collapse (three rounds of layoffs), the US Ordermark software business was sold to India-based UrbanPiper in June 2023, and as of January 2025 the Ordermark brand has been fully merged into UrbanPiper - nextbite.io is no longer a working product site.

Nextbite's separate virtual-brands business went to Sam Nazarian's sbe and was folded into his Everybody Eats holding company in March 2024. Today the product (as UrbanPiper) targets US and Canadian independents and small chains that juggle multiple delivery-app tablets without middleware.

Ordermark (Nextbite) pros and cons

Pros

  • +Single easy-to-use dashboard for all delivery aggregators - UrbanPiper (the platform Ordermark customers were migrated to) holds 4.6/5 from 57 reviews on G2, with 80% five-star
  • +G2 reviewers praise the detailed analytics and integrated dashboard for managing orders, tracking inventory and analyzing sales data
  • +Supportive onboarding with dedicated account managers is repeatedly mentioned in G2 reviews of UrbanPiper

Cons

  • −The legacy Ordermark product's only Capterra/SoftwareAdvice review is 1.0/5, citing 'glitch after glitch that impact my business revenue' and 'terrible customer service... long hold times'
  • −G2 reviewers of the current UrbanPiper platform report slow support: issue resolution can take 24-48 hours after emailing the support team
  • −Brand and ownership churn (Ordermark → Nextbite → UrbanPiper, brand retired Jan 2025) meant forced platform migration for US customers, and the US-specific review base is very thin

Top Ordermark (Nextbite) alternatives

Otter

US-native order aggregation with its own tablet hardware and broad delivery-app coverage - better if you want a vendor headquartered in and focused on the US market rather than a platform mid-rebrand.

Deliverect

The global category leader in delivery-order aggregation with deeper enterprise integrations - better for multi-market or fast-growing chains that need proven scale.

Checkmate

Deep direct-to-POS injection for third-party orders, popular with US franchise and enterprise brands - better if POS integration depth matters more than a simple tablet replacement.

Ordermark (Nextbite) FAQ

How much does Ordermark cost?

There is no public price list as of July 2026 - the old ordermark.com/pricing page returns 404 and UrbanPiper (its current owner) quotes per location on request. Historically, Ordermark's SaaS started at about $100 per restaurant location per month (per investor Matchstick VC), and UrbanPiper's CEO stated that converting existing Ordermark accounts to the UrbanPiper platform was free.

Is Ordermark still a standalone product?

No. Nextbite sold Ordermark's US business to India-based UrbanPiper in June 2023, and in January 2025 UrbanPiper completed the integration and retired the Ordermark name - 'Ordermark by UrbanPiper is now simply UrbanPiper.' The ordermark.com site still exists but funnels new customers to the UrbanPiper platform.

What happened to Nextbite?

Nextbite (the virtual-brands business that Ordermark merged with in 2021 after a $120M Series C) hit repeated layoffs and split in two in 2023: the Ordermark software went to UrbanPiper, while the Nextbite virtual-brands portfolio was bought by sbe founder Sam Nazarian in June 2023 and folded into his Everybody Eats holding company (with C3 and Kitchen United assets) in March 2024. The nextbite.io website no longer serves a product site.

Who is Ordermark/UrbanPiper a good fit for?

US and Canadian independent restaurants and small chains that manage several delivery apps on separate tablets and have no middleware yet - exactly the segment UrbanPiper says it is targeting in the US, where it reported about 5,000 live locations in early 2025 with a goal of 50,000 by 2027. Larger chains with complex POS needs may prefer Checkmate or Deliverect.
