About

Restaurant back-office platform for inventory, recipe management, labor scheduling, and sales forecasting; now a TouchBistro back-of-house module.

Key Features

Sales forecasting engine that projected demand so operators could align purchasing and labor scheduling with expected sales (core PeachWorks module, verified on the archived 2019 homepage; now 'data-driven food prep forecasting' and labor forecasting by labor %, hours, cost, or headcount in TouchBistro)
Inventory management with real-time counts, suggested ordering, vendor management, and digital waste/theft/spoilage logging - multiple managers can count simultaneously across locations in the TouchBistro successor
Recipes & Nutrition module for recipe building, recipe costing, menu engineering, and auto-generated nutritional and allergen information per dish
Staff scheduling with employee self-service access, availability, time-off and shift-trade management, now multi-location in TouchBistro Labor Management
POS Hub plus Analytics: a BI reporting layer that pulled data from third-party POS systems into customizable reports (legacy PeachWorks was POS-agnostic; the successor syncs with TouchBistro POS every 15 minutes instead)
Daily Log for operational consistency: food temperature monitoring, critical checklists, and shift-event documentation
Team communication hub - in the TouchBistro successor this includes in-app messages, email, and SMS notifications for schedule changes and announcements

What is PeachWorks (by TouchBistro)?

PeachWorks (founded 2005 as WhenToManage, HQ Southfield, Michigan) was a cloud-based restaurant back-office platform combining inventory, recipe and nutrition management, staff scheduling, sales forecasting, and POS-agnostic analytics, aimed at independent restaurants and multi-location groups. It no longer exists as a standalone product: payments company Beyond acquired it in April 2018, TouchBistro then acquired the Peachworks software and relaunched its technology in September 2024 as TouchBistro Inventory Management and Labor Management add-ons. As of July 2026, peachworks.com redirects to TouchBistro's back-of-house solutions page, so today the product is effectively only available to restaurants running TouchBistro POS.

PeachWorks (by TouchBistro) pros and cons

Pros

  • +Inventory counting and invoice entry are notably easy - one Capterra reviewer: 'Inventory used to be such a difficult process for me and now I barely sweat it'; G2 reviewers also praise easy custom report creation
  • +Responsive, helpful customer support, especially during onboarding (recurring theme on Capterra and G2)
  • +Easy to learn and train staff on (ease-of-use rated 3.9/5 on Software Advice, the highest of its sub-scores; 4.1/5 overall on G2)

Cons

  • −Reliability complaints: 'constant glitches with recipe editing and inventory counts' and a product 'not intuitive enough for our needs' (Capterra reviews; overall rating a middling 3.7/5 from 33 reviews)
  • −Reporting depth and speed criticized - some users found reports not robust enough and slow when pulling year-to-date data (Capterra/G2)
  • −Perceived as expensive with significant setup effort required; value-for-money scores just 3.6/5 on Software Advice - and buying it today forces you into the TouchBistro POS ecosystem since the standalone product is gone

Top PeachWorks (by TouchBistro) alternatives

You can no longer buy PeachWorks as a standalone product. Capterra listed the legacy product from $279/month, but as of July 2026 its technology is sold only as TouchBistro's Inventory Management and Labor Management add-ons, which are quote-based and require TouchBistro POS (from $69/month).

Is PeachWorks discontinued?

As an independent product, yes. PeachWorks was acquired by payments company Beyond in April 2018, then by TouchBistro, which relaunched the technology in September 2024 as TouchBistro Inventory Management and Labor Management. peachworks.com now redirects to TouchBistro's back-of-house solutions page.

What was PeachWorks used for?

Restaurant back-office management: inventory counts and ordering, recipe costing with nutrition and allergen data, staff scheduling, sales forecasting, daily operational logs, and POS-agnostic analytics/reporting across one or many locations.

What should former PeachWorks users switch to?

If you run (or are willing to run) TouchBistro POS, the natural path is TouchBistro's Inventory Management and Labor Management add-ons built on PeachWorks technology. If you want to keep another POS, Restaurant365 covers the full back office, MarketMan covers inventory/purchasing, and 7shifts covers scheduling.
